‘Luminó Tejido’: A Lighting Product Using Light as a Textile Structure

Bogotá

For this piece, I researched different materials to create a lighting product that uses light itself as a textile structure. I focused on understanding light as a material—relational, fluid, and temporary—and I knitted the final product using crochet techniques. I created the threads used in the construction of the lamp with luminescent powder.

The Luminó lamp flashes light without the need for electricity, yet it maintains the reminiscence of a cable. By recharging with the sun, it highlights the essential characteristics of light, offering a unique and sustainable lighting experience.
